Cleopatra's Needle

Erected by Pharoe Thothmes III around 1500 BC at Syene, then inscribed two centuries later by Rameses the Great, this obelisk was then transported to Alexandria by Cleopatra. Then on 1878 it was brought to the UK by John Dixon for Queen Victoria, when it was erected on this spot.
