In memory of William Boag Founding Father of Burnside 1828 - 1904 William Boat arrived on the 'Cornwall', 10th December 1851 from Bravo, Scotland. He finally settled on this land naming it 'Burnside'. The farm grew to approximately 1700 acres including Avonhead. ( more on plaque )
