First Presbyterian Church

The First Presbyterian Church celebrated its bicentennial in 1998. While this building was not the first church, it is certainly the best to date. The former church building on this location built in 1842 was destroyed by a tornado in 1887. The current structure was built using many of the remains of the old church but reinforced and expanded to be able to weather another great storm.
