Bedford Boat Slide Archimedean Screw Turbine

Victorian boat slide connecting upper and lower parts of the River Ouse. It fell into disuse and became overgrown with plants and trees. In 2011 it was given a new lease of life and Archimedean Screw Generators were installed to give, clean renewable power, 160.000 kwh of power , also this allows the natural aquatic life to migrate once more, such as eels and elvers
