One year later DIONISIO ALCARA GALIANO and CAYETANO VALDES, sailing the schooners SUTIL AND MEXICANA, met here with GEORGE VANCOUVER on that occasion, and during the summer of 1792, the Spanish and English navigators shared and exchanged their survey results from the first circumnavigation of Vancouver Island be Europeans.
