Redhill Train Station

Redhill, United Kingdom

Originally two separate stations: Red Hill and Reigate Road on the Brighton line and Redhill on the Dover line. The present station opened as Reigate (The town of Redhill didn't really exist at this point and Reigate, a town to the west did not get it's own station until 1849) in 1844. Rebuilt and rename multiple times, the station received it's current name in 1929. There are the platforms with mixture of heavily altered Victorian and Edwardian buildings alongside 1980s structures, linked by a subway to main building at street level. This has been rebuilt twice, first in 1930 and again in the late 1980s. Despite being only 25 years old, it is due to be rebuilt again during 2014/2015 as part of a retail and housing development.
