Monument "Naša mati" by Anselmo Dorkin, on the site where women washed the laundry in the old days. In the 19th and early 20th century, women from Preko often worked as laundresses for Zadar gentlemen to earn for a living. Laundresses in that region were also called "lavandijere". In 1891. sixteen laundresses drowned when boat, which took them to Zadar, capsized.The sinking of the boat was probably caused by the strong wind.
