This listed buiding was The General Wolfe pub, which is now a restaurant. It appears in lists of inns and taverns issued during 1822-23 and there are mentions of it being used as a auction house in the 1700s. Was an iconic music venue hosting rock and roll nights in the 50s and much has been written about the visits to the venue by the likes of The Eurythmics and U2 during the 70s and 80s. Fledgling bands like The Specials, The Selecter, The Swinging Cats, King and many others all practised there during their early days. It was an incredible period that made it arguably the most revered venue in the region.
