This monument commemorates the first City Hall which occupied this site for more than 60 years. The stone globe adorned the top of the original structure. Bricks used are from the former Armour & Company's meat packing plant. -Dedicated by South St. Paul Chapter Dakota County Historical Society October 28, 1989 Under this structure lies a time capsule to be opened on the 200th anniversary of the city of South St Paul
