Sprout

"Sprout" by Beth Nybeck,   Dedicated April 25, 2014.   There is an element of growth and community at the heart of the design. Olathe has a dynamic energy of growth, education, and commerce. It was important the design reflect these characteristics.   The design is composed of numerous pieces or elements. The intention is each piece represents different aspects and people of a community. each piece is uniquely different and yet relies on one another. The semi-circular movements emulates community, family, cycles of giving, and renewal.   The sculpture serves as a gateway to the downtown and also serves as a place of relaxation and rest.
