El Camino Real Mission Bell

On July 16th 1769 padre Junipero Serra dedicated the first 21 missions to be established in Alta California. These missions along what is today known as the El Camino Real are located one day's ride apart. Mission bells symbolizing the founding of California now span the state from San Diego North to Sonoma. "Let church bells ring in his honor and god grant him eternal life."
