Stories of Autism
Bellevue, United States
In 2005, photographer Charles Contugno began a small personal project creating portraits of children and young adults on the autism spectrum. As word of the project spread he began getting request after request to create more portraits and exhibit at larger events and venues. Now, the project has over fifty portraits, been the subject of many television, magazine, newspaper, and web articles, been exhibited in countless venues, and been used by several major autism foundations and the Special Olympics to help raise funds and awareness.
