Old Capitol Museum

Served as the state's first capitol from 1846 to 1857. When state government moved to Des Moines, the building became the centerpiece of The University of Iowa. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1976. Dome and bell destroyed by fire in 2001, replaced in 2003.
