Champaign Rail Water Tower

This rail water tower is located mere feet from an original rail station that was the second for Champaign. This station was built in 1899 after the first burnt the year before. In 1923 the brick station was moved 114 feet north. On August 9th it was dedicated. Interestingly even while it was being moved at mere feet per day it was in use.
