Barton Duvall, and a descendant of Mareen Duvall, purchased several plantations in what is now known as Crofton. Mareen Duvall's home, Middle Plantation, still stands on Davidsonville road nearby and is listed on the National Registry. Mareen is also buried in the family plot.
