1911 Bleriot XI Replica
Ronkonkoma, United States
The Bleriot was the first aircraft to fly from France to England over the English Channel. This aircraft is a replica of a Bleriot built in New York under license in 1911. An unusual addition was the rotary engine which rotates along with the propeller. It was this aircraft that carried the first U. S. Airmail on Sept 23, 1911 from Garden City to Mineola. The pilot was Earl Ovington.
