Fulmer Mine
Phillipsburg, United States
Fulmer mine (locally known as the ice cave) is one of the few hematite mines in northern New Jersey. The Fulmer Mine was originally opened in 1860. In 1880 high quality hematite ore was discovered by the Iron Mountain Mining Company at this location. It is reported that 4000 tons of rock were removed from the underground mine, generating 1000 tons of ore. Now part of the Warren-Highlands Trail.
