Bourton Mill Health & Leisure Club
Buckingham, United Kingdom
This old Mill dates back to 1086 when it had a recorded value of 14 shillings. The hamlet of Bourton is first referred to in the Doomesday Book where it is described as a Royal Manor with Ploughlands, Mill and meadows. In 1990 a major renovation was undertaken by L Cushway & Co Ltd to restore the old and run down mill and turned it into a private health and leisure club. The water which once drove the Mill wheel is being used through a unique energy efficient system to maintain the pool temperature and power the air conditioning. This helps to conserve valuable energy resources thus benefitting the environment.
