Jesus Statue on Wall

A Statue mounted in an alcove in the wall facing the street, at the height of the first storey. This Statues are quite typical for Mainz- Finthen. They are always found on old houses of farmer- families. They are always depicting figures of the christian mythology, in this case Jesus Christ himself and are thought to call down the blessing of the lord on the inhabitants of the house. On a sidenote you can see the year in which the house was build, Anno 1924.
