Lucas Works Memorial

This commemorates the Lucas Works in Dronfield. This arch is all that remains of the works and stands at the entrance to the bottom yard. Lucas Works was reported to be the first ever to produce malleable cast iron, from a process patented by Samuel Lucas in 1804. Last castings were finished in September 1971.
