Geometric Forms

This statue by Alexandra Wejchert is located in front of the Robert Schuman Buidling on the University of Limerick campus. "Geometric Forms" was made from polished stainless steel and consists of six identical elements connected at the centre, the dimecnsions are impressive 7.0 m x 4.5m. Each of the semi-crescent elements was cut from a 6mm thick flat plate with the edges stiffened by 200 x 100mm plates welded to it. The statue underlines the planning axis of the International Business Centre part of the campus that cuts in half the ornamental lake, the statue and the Robert Schuman building.
