Soldier's Remains

"On this site lies the remains of those buried in Lafayette Cemetery, Phila, PA. May they rest in peace." About 10,000 bodies were illegally relocated from what is now the park across from Pat's and Geno's in 1949 and 1950, and illegally dumped in a trench on this site. The trench was discovered during construction in 1989. The trench contains the remains of two sailors awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor during the Civil War.
