Batman Memorial

Anderson, United States

BATMAN When John W. Batman died in 1919, he probably had no idea how famous his marker would become, what with the Batman Comics, TV series, and myriad motion pictures. The Batman headstone even became a point of interest in one man's attempt to get his son to college. Several years ago Anderson University Alum decided to bring his older son to A.U. for "Senior Weekend". His son was more than a little uninterested until his father said he would show him where Batman was buried. No one would ever imagine a cemetery being used as a college recruiting tool or would they?
