Elkhorn's Masonic Lodge

The Masons have a long history starting back to Revolutionary War days, and in fact stem from an organization of people that built cathedrals, abbeys and castles, in England. Masonry evolved, using the old symbols and traditions of this craft. One of the brochure states that Masonry is an organization of men bound together with the philosophy of moral standards, mutual understanding, and a Brotherhood in which all men are on the level and equal. This group meets regularly. "They are pledged to preserve the moral fiber and quality of life and to act in the spirit of helpfulness towarda all mankind." within this group is a woman's organization (Eastern Star), a group for girls (Rainbow) and a young men's group (DeMolay). They support many projects but their main support in Nebraska goes to the children's homes in Fremont and Omaha and to college scholarships
