This mural is dedicated to Oberlin's involvement in the underground railroad and continuing commitment to social justice. Symbology: The north star leads the way to freedom. Many houses in Oberlin were stops on the underground railroad. Coded symbols in quilt patterns were used to direct a safe route to freedom.
