Willie Horne was born in Barrow in 1922 and died in 2001. He played rugby league for Barrow, Lancashire, England and Great Britain. During his career he captained the Great Britain team in 1952. This statue stands opposite Craven Park - the home of Barrow Raiders rugby league club.
