The Indian Seats
Cumming, United States
Over hundreds of thousands of years, rain runoff from boulders balanced on this rock outcropping slowly carved three uniform depressions in the stone. Those boulders eventually weathered, split and toppled down the north face, exposing what we now call the Indian Seats. Evidence exists that the seats and the adjacent natural clearing may have served some ceremonial purpose for native american inhabitants dating as far back as circa 500 B.C.E. traditionally, mountaintops are considered sacred places among Native Americans because they bring visitors closer to Father Sky.
