Cotton Mouth

The Cottonmouth is a poisonous snake often found in southern lowlands. It feeds on fish, frogs, snakes, birds, and small animals. These dangerous snakes closely resemble several non-poisonous water snakes. Sometimes a cottonmouth will throw its head up and back revealing the white interior of the mouth - the origin of the name, cottonmouth.
