Weather or Not Sculpture

1995-2000. Rob Fisher. The aerial sculpture, "Weather Or Not" is based on something everyone can relate to. Weather patterns. Sculptor Rob Fisher contacted the Meteorology Department at Penn State and discovered they had a record of monthly high, low and mean temperatures in the State College area for the entire 20th century. He extracted the average temperature during each month of the year for every leap year from 1900 to 1992. With this information he created a three-dimensional graphic representation of a century of weather that also can be appreciated for its abstract beauty and fluidity of line, hence the name, "Weather Or Not."
