For almost two centuries, a lighthouse beacon has stood at the southern tip of NJ, guarding the entrance to the Delaware Bay. The present structure was constructed in 1857 and stands 157.5ft, it is the third lighthouse on the site, replacing earlier structures built in 1823 & 1847.
