Healds Hall
Liversedge, United Kingdom
Built in 1764, Healds Hall was the largest house in the Spen Valley. It became famous for its links with the Bronte family who are well known as poets and novelists, writing literary classics such as Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Charlotte Bronte's second novel, 'Shirley', draws closely on the area and one of its characters is based on the then owner of Healds Hall, Hammond Roberson. The building retains many of its original features whilst being modernised to serve as a hotel and restaurant.
