White Rocks

Deadwood, United States

At the summit of Mount Moriah, White Rocks has been a local landmark since the 1870s. Covered in graffiti (both recent and historic), the peak is a steep hike from the cemetery where Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried. There are beautiful views of Deadwood and Terry Peak to the west, Mount Roosevelt to the north and Bear Butte to the east. Fire damage from the 2002 Grizzly Gulch blaze litters the hillsides to the southeast.
