The statue of Egeria the Wood Nymph - or Oak tree Nymph - is particularly relevant to Greenock as it is believed the town name is derived from a 'Green Oak' tree which grew in the town centre. Egeria was sculpted by Glasgow artist Andy Scott in 2011.
