The sculpture "Menneskestolen" ("The Human Chair") by Kjell Gunnar Overøye was unveiled in september 2013. A piece commissioned by Sykkylven municipality, it is meant to symbolize the creativity and entrepeneurial spirit that has led Sykkylven to become a furniture industry powerhouse. Home to brands like Ekornes, Hjellegjerde, Brunstad and L.K. Hjelle, furniture has been the main industry since the first company, Tynes, was founded in 1927.
