Historic Cherry Valley Cemetery

Duvall, United States

This site was donated for a cemetery in 1886 by James O'Leary.A high water table made interment difficult with the need to bail water while waiting for the hearse to arrive. In 1905 a better place for a cemetery was found on Novelty Hill and by 1910 most remains were moved there. Among the graves still here are those of Stephanie Dyer Duvall, Ardle Pinkerton, Corinda Woodbury Pinkerton, Mr. Leyde, Mrs Peterson Mrs Pingway, two Ruddy children, Florence Hible, and two Allen children. These last three were aunts of Eleanor Zaremba and Bill Trulson who donated the cemetery to the Duvall Historical Society after caring for it for many years.
