South Broadway Manor
Scottdale, United States
Built in 1904 by J.P. Brennan, a coke and coal industrialist, for his growing family, he rolled his original house 100ft west to accommodate the natural spring of which they used for refrigeration in the day. Gas and electric was undecided at the time, so original gas fixtures, knob and tube wiring with mother of pearl push buttons operated the lighting. Very rare pre-prohibition Old Farm Rye Whiskey distilled in 1912 was discovered hidden behind basement walls in their original cases unopened and are now on display in the Old Overholt Museum. South Broadway Manor is now a bed and breakfast for the Pennsylvania old country travelers.
