Agua Fria National Monument - Bloody Basin Entry

The 71,000 acre Agua Fria National Monument, part of the BLM's National Landscape Conservation system of lands, features rare semi-desert grassland making it valuable habitat for Arizona grassland species such as pronghorn and upland birds. The monument also features precious living rivers and streams which including the Agua Fria River and eight tributaries which make up Audubon's Agua Fria National Monument Important Bird Area. The monument includes most of the Perry Mesa National Register District, the largest prehistoric district in the nation, and features one of the most important natural and archaeological landscapes in the American Southwest.
