'The Nine Men of Madeley' Grave

9 miners fell into the Brick Kiln Leasow Crawstone Pit in 1864 when the chain lowering the men into the pit wasn't correctly secured. The youngest was 12 years old. They were buried in a communal gave here on 1st October 1864.
