Maden Memorial Fountain

The plaque reads: "Borough of Bacup - This fountain was erected by Public subscription to the place on permanent record the appreciation of the Inhabitants of the Borough of the MADEN Family, whose gifts include Public Baths, Recreation Grounds, Site of the Post Office and Public Buildings, Disinfector and many other things for the benefit of the town. September 7th 1912" The fountain was later moved from its original site to Stubbylee park in 1923 where it has remained ever since.
