South School

In 1830, 5 school districts were stablish in Woodbridge. Each district consisting of a one-room schoolhouse with 8th grades. The original self school was destroyed by fire. This building was re elected to replace it 1877-1928. Many of the children educated in the district lived in Woodbridge as adults and we're civic minded. Among those who intended South school where D Dot Sperry Sutfin, a long time teacher and C Cliff Miller who was prominent in town affairs. This marker remembers the district South school, and all the students nurtured in the schools.
