Queen Marinette, daughter of an Indian chief, wife of a prominent business man, lies here. People had trouble pronouncing her name which was Marie Antoinette originally. It ended up sounding more like Marinette (mare in ett). Her history is deep and complicated. She was of mixed blood, namely Native American and French descent. She was an important figure in the development of this area and it's economy. She give charity as much as possible, she had her hands into the fur trade and she was well respected by the settlers and natives of this area.
