UFO Sun Eye

Ashdod, Israel

The Sun Eye is an artistic monument that sits on the 2nd largest square in Israel, Kikar Ha'Yovel. It was created by the Israeli sculptor Moti Mizrahi. It is also sometimes referred to as "the UFO" because of its shape. The yellow side of the Eye represents the sun, and the grey side represents the moon. In the center there is a glass lens that is meant to reflect the sunlight and moonlight. After sunset, various different colors are projected on the entire structure, creating an interesting visual attraction.
