<center> Built circa 1926-27<br> by the Arizona Department<br> of Transportation<br><br> This building constructed of Moenkopi Sandstone, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.<br><br> The Ash Fork Camp location was selected because it is a junction point of the Old Trails and Grand Canyon-Nogales Highways leading south, and also a junction of the Santa Fe Railroad.<br><br> Ash Fork Camp played a significant role maintaining Route 66 during the great westward migration.</center>
