Experimental Elm Grove
Marietta, United States
15 experimental elms were planted in the spring of 1985 as a cooperative research effort between the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service and the city of Marietta. Both hybrids planted here are resistant to Dutch Elm Disease and their growth can be monitored regularly to determine if one type should be planted as a street tree in Marietta. Of course, this tree research can be useful worldwide.
