Seven Feet Coal Seam

Taff Bargoed Park was built on the site of 3 former coal mines. These markers can be found along the parks many walkways to inform visitors of the location and depth of the coal seams that were once worked here. The width of the corresponding stone work indicates the width of the seam, and shows the cramped conditions miners were expected to work in for very little pay.
