Waverly, United States

On June 17 and 18, 1804, Lewis and Clark camped a few miles downstream to make oars from timber in the area. Near the camp was a river crossing for Sacs, Ayauways, and Sioux in their excursions against the Osage. On June 19, the explorers continued upstream past this spot.
