This building is known as the South Stone School House. Built on the site of the very first school on Isle Le Motte, that housed 84 student's ages 4 to 18. The current stone structure was built in 1842 when the wooden house burned down. This building also became the center for many community functions. There was a record number of funerals held here in 1849.
