Triple Whipple Bridge
Aurora, United States
The Triple Whipple Bridge is 300 feet long and was built in 1878. It was named for 19th century bridge designer Squire Whipple, who designed a special system of supports. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places; it is the only remaining bridge of its type in the country. It is presently closed to vehicular traffic but has been rehabilitated for pedestrian use.
