Kilauea Lighthouse

The northernmost lighthouse on Kauai is also in the same location where numerous seabirds reside. Thus the site became a wildlife refuge to protect the birds and educate people about them. The lighthouse has been discontinued, while a modern light beside it took over. Kilauea Point Wildlife Refuge has about half a million visitors per year, as the area is an ideal place for studying and photographing seabirds.
