Food Chain

All food chains begin with the Sun. In one example of a food chain, a green plant like grass takes and stores energy from the sun. A mouse then eats the grass seeds and is in turn eaten by a black rat snake. Finally, a larger predator like the red-tailed hawk will feed on the snake.
